An Antidote for Exhaustion

There are no small gestures. Every little bit counts. Imagine if we all commited to sprinkling each day with a smidge more thoughtfulness. Imagine how the world would change. We are all so desperate to be seen, known, understood. How we show up for ourselves and for others matters. It may matter now more than ever.

Make Feedback Normal

I need a t-shirt that says, "Make Feedback Normal." I don't want to feel like I'm being chased by lions. I want to feel like I'm nourishing my heart, mind, and spirit as I work to evolve and grow into the best human being and leader that I can be.

Last Flight Out

We get the most from our brains when we experience unexpected thrills and delights. How might we disrupt our normal in pursuit of big magic? How might we bring unexpected thrills and delights to our students? This is not frill or extra, this is a significant part the work. This is a way to gain deeper access to higher happiness levels. Happiness has the power to turn on all of the learning centers of the brain.

Painting Ladders

It was 2011 and the Xavier Men's Basketball team was about to win the A-10 conference. In keeping with tradition, at the end of that last home game, the team and coaching staff would take turns climbing a ladder to cut off a piece of the basketball net.
